GemTone Reocrds was founded in 1998, initial releasing jazz and blues CDs from Len Rainey, The Deacons featuring Keny Schoppmeyer, The Edmund Velasco Quintet and George Matoian. Abandoning the CD format as a viable medium,GemTone began releasing digital singles and albums through the CDBaby aggregator. Currently the music is available on CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon and other online download outlets including Nimbit, Bandcamp and others.
