For the artist Michael Jessing, the painting of illustrations for the complete book, has been both an artistic as well as a spiritual journey. Exhibitions of the work took place betwee1997 and 2001 at the Bookcase in Carlisle with other exhibitions in New York, Edinburgh, and Oxford..A booklet of selected psalms and the accompanying illustrations is available from the artist.
