American Bandstand (dance party, hosted by Dick Clark) (ABC Weekday afternoons, 1957 - 1963) (ABC Saturday afternoons, 1963 - 1987) (Syndicated, 1987 - 1988) [Started as a local Philadelphia TV show in 1952 hosted by Bob Horn, who co-wrote "Bandstand Boogie" (Theme 2). Dick Clark took over the show in 1956, and it went on the ABC network the next year, the first network show to feature dreaded "Rock-and-Roll" music.
