Bill Zorn Photographs - China - Introduction These photographs are the result of several months spent in China's Three Gorges in the Yangtze River valley, an area of exquisite beauty at the heart of Chinese history. Over the next decade, this will be covered by the reservoir created by the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydroelectric project in the history of mankind. This project has necessitated the relocation of nearly two million people and has submerged thirteen major cities, as well as innumerable ancient villages.The majority of the landscape depicted in these images is now under water. All the people seen have been relocated.
