Description: Personal camera collection; reviews and articles about older cameras and photography.
Cameras: The Collection Section The Leica IIIC was not a postwar design, although it was developed so late before the War that it is essentially a postwar camera. It offered no features beyond those of the prewar IIIB, but it had a new one-piece cast chassis and a one-piece top cover. It cost almost $450 in the US in 1948 and is perhaps best known for the tendency of its chrome to flake off due to early postwar material supply problems. With the addition of flash synchronization in 1951, it would become the IIIF.
