Description: One of Oxford's best choirs. Founded in 1976 to specialise in unaccompanied works, the choir now sings a vast range of music, from Byrd to Britten.
The Arcadian Singers : GroupSpaces Founded in 1976 as a madrigal choir, the Arcadian Singers has now become one of Oxford's most musically agile and widely-recognised singing groups. We practice weekly and sing at least one concert per term, while maintaining our reputation as "Oxford's friendliest chamber choir" through frequent socials, pub trips. Our previous repertoire represents an eclectic mix of accompanied and unaccompanied choral music from the past five hundred years. The Arcadian Singers' thirty or so members are drawn predominantly (but not exclusively) from Oxford University, and membership of the choir is by audition arranged through the secretary.
