July 27th, 2011 was the 50th Anniversary of The Lion Sleeps Tonight, which The Tokens originally recorded in 1961. Here are some words by members of the band from that special day! "Wow! 50 years ago today we recorded The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Hard to believe! We are still performing, writing and producing. What a gift! We are blessed! I wish to offer my deepest, warmest, THANK YOU to all our wonderful fans. Happy 50th anniversary, oh mighty lion!"
