Welcome to my web site. Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a musicologist, retired from the in 1992. Until recently, and for more than 25 years, the history and technology of the harpsichord was the object of my scholarly attention. I've written a number of articles and reviews on it, and presented papers on early keyboard matters at many scholarly conferences. For almost 15 years I was also involved in acoustical research on the harpsichord, and have done articles and presentations on that topic as well. I've written six books, three of which deal with the harpsichord. With the publication of my last book, A HISTORY OF THE HARPSICHORD, I ended my active scholarly engagement with the instrument.
