Paul McAuley Bodhrans with Design Please be advised that Paul McAuley Bodhrans will not be trading from Monday 13th Jan 2014 Hi, my name is Paul and I live in a small seaside town in Northern Ireland called Ballycastle in the County of Antrim. As a native of Ballycastle I am interested in craft and music and the promotion of Irish Traditional Music also plays an important part of my life. I was employed as a Department Manager in a large supermarket and watched the cut-trust business develop. I have always had a great respect for the traditional crafts and especially working with wood which has given me great pleasure. I started playing the Bodhrán in my spare time and some years ago perfected the old skills of reproducing several sizes of drums from the 15" Glenariffe fixed skin bodhran to the 18" tuneable drum, which is for the more professional players. I decided to devote my full-time career to the making and perfecting of handcrafted locally made Bodhráns and I liaise closely with the makers of the traditional Lambeg drums and share the skins according to size and availability.
