Eminently entertaining and informative the diverse contributions and Gzowski's editorial comments are just the kind of episodic reading enjoyed by those with busy schedules and little time. The collection gives the reader an opportunity to appreciate more fully and freshly, in a palatable format, much of what Canada and being Canadian is all about. One reads of love of country from Red River Valley, Manitoba, to Lawrence Town Beach, Nova Scotia, to Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. One empathizes with those who are caught in "the adoption triangle," the sad plight of those who want to know more about their natural parents and parents who want to forget. One laughs, one cries and never forgets the essence of being human and humane. Gzowski simply doesn't let one.
