Description: Evidence that suggests Shakespeare did write the plays attributed to him.
Authorship of Shakespeare's Plays Did Shakespeare Really Write Shakespeare? There is an academic minority view (held by perhaps a handful of serious scholars at any time) that somebody besides Shakespeare wrote the plays, but I don't see much evidence to support this "Renaissance conspiracy theory." Those scholars who disagree would argue that the academy has a large stake in "Will Shaxbear" and thus can't properly assess their beliefs, but I'll do my best to summarize the main arguments and offer a quick rebutal.
