Description: A short biography and an excerpt from her novel, The Man for Her.
I've been polishing a manuscript, buffing it up to shine like an apple for the teacher -- or a "must buy" for an editor. <g> I love this part of the process. Since I'm a stickler for grammar and punctuation, I have to gag my inner editor in order to get the raw story onto the page. That means all kinds of awkward constructions, run-on sentences, questionable metaphors and lazy verbs make their way into the wip. Now, with the story written, I get to wallow around in grammar-ville. Verb phrases, often passive voice, get tossed in favour of a single, active verb. Adjectives and adverbs are scrutinized. Only those that are necessary are allowed to remain.
