Internationally known, award-winning quilt artist, Carol Taylor, approaches her quilt making with intensity and a seemingly boundless energy despite having a full-time job. Vibrant colors, striking contrasts, and values, as well as heavy machine quilting and embroidery distinguish Carol’s quilts. She has created over 280 quilts since she began quilting in 1993. Recently, jurors for the international exhibit, Quilt National, selected Carol’s quilt, Vibrations, for the 2001 edition of this “best of contemporary quilts” showcase. Quilt National 1999 also featured Carol’s quilt, Shattered, which traveled with the show for two years. Other recent honors for Carol include the Best of Show Award in the Made in New York 1999 exhibit won by her quilt, Glimpse of the Grotto. |
