Pottery by Herman Venema, professional potter for over 30 years Welcome to our pottery site, and thanks for your interest in handmade pottery. A tour of this site will provide information about gas-fired stoneware pottery made at our studio, about classes offered, and some history. We've been at the Harris Road location since 1970, with a studio fitted into an old barn that, like the house, dates from 1911. The house and studio are surrounded by a rhododendron and azalea garden, perennial garden, and venerable trees that are as old as the house. The garden is at its best from April to September. Throughout the garden are picnic tables, benches, and gazebo. All inviting you to linger a while.
