Since 1995, The University of Oregon’s Ecological Design Center has hosted the annual HOPES Conference (Holistic Options for Planet Earth Sustainability) to facilitate the intersection of students, design professionals, and community members. In its twentieth year, HOPES continues to be the nation’s premier student-led sustainable design conference and has hosted luminaries as Shigeru Ban, Samuel Mockbee, Sim Van der Ryn, Neri Oxman, and Carolyn Steel.
