Description: Photographs and history of this New York schoolhouse constructed circa 1923.
Onchiota Schoolhouse located in The Town Of Franklin This unique former schoolhouse is located on Roakdale Road in Onchiota, New York and is now a private residence. It was built before 1923 and moved to its present site in the 1930's.The building material is clapboard with a stone foundation. The building has a hip metal roof and the windows have been replaced with four pane, double hung windows, as the former windows were long and narrow. Doors are metal insulated at present. The building is one story with two porches. The original vestibule was removed when the full-enclosed porch was built after 1975. The vestibule is now attached to the wood shed. The porch was constructed to match the style of the building.
